What I fail do understand about this whole case is this: Even if he followed him because he hated him, and because he looked like Obamo's son, why does that disqualify him from self defense.

Who attacked who? who said it was self defence? By following him etc; they are trying to paint it as ill intent.

So if I start up a fight with someone I hate, the guy gets a right to use vicious life-threatening force against me?

It happens all the time, it's called road rage. And the guy who uses deadly force--Martin in this case--is always the guy to be blamed.

If you start a fight with someone you hate and you bash his head into the concrete repeatedly and tell him he's gonna die tonight and he thinks he is indeed gonna die, then yes he can kill you.

Florida has a great "stand your ground" law.

I will leave you this quote from a famous lawyer. 

“The defendant wants to hide the truth because he's generally guilty. The defense attorney's job is to make sure the jury does not arrive at that truth."

The way he said it in class is that: As a prosecutor your job is to make the truth come out; as a defense attorney your job is to prevent that from happening. He also said, that a defense attorney's job is to get guilty people off.

The prob in this case is that the prosecutor is not just trying to get the truth out--they are acting as advocates to put him in prison regardless of the truth. That is how they prosecuted even though there is no way they possibly believe themselves beyond reasonable doubt (which is a requirement to prosecute). That is the explanation for the bizarre objections to reasonable requests and things from the defense.

It isn't supposed to be like a civil case where each side just wants to win. The prosecutor is supposed to just want the truth to come out--whichever way that is.

I've watched the trial, heard the testimony have seen the original investigatiors say he's innocent, watched al "sharpy" sharpton and his crew of racists protest and threaten riots if GZ is not arrested etc; etc;
So, my "open mind" came to the conclusion that he's innocent.

That's a silly question. It's not unreasonable for someone to have examined the facts of the case and concluded that he would have, just as it's not unreasonable to conclude that he'd have been fine.
