IIRC USAA also refunds you for using a different ATM. But they charge 1% foreign transaction

I believe you need the checking account which comes with a brokerage account, I once posted the information...

I'm pretty sure thats the only checking account they offer...

I went to 2 diff money changers who said they cant accept checks.
The 3rd one said he would take it... I guess some places still take them

the change place in rav shefa is taking a limited number of checks daily so if you go in the morning you should be okay

Just called them, they told me as of now they aren't accepting any checks- even in morning

If i send a wire transfer to israel... What is the best way to do it. I'm a chase pc so i don't pay fees on my end . Should I transfer to Nis and then send or send dollars and let the Israeli bank exchange. Do the Israeli banks charge a lot in fees to receive a wt?

A couple weeks ago I exchanged at the Gelt Place in Ramat Beit Shemesh. They charge 1% (I think), but called me later to let me know that now they can only accept checks have a blank "Pay to the order of" line.

Anyone can help me help a friend? They get money each month from a USA company. Until now they mailed them a check to Israel (always a bad idea - to mail checks in Israel) and they would cash it here. Now they need another solution. They can not open an american bank account because they are here in Israel and they are not American citizens. What should they do? Does anyone here have experience with using Israeli paypal? Is that a solution? Anything else?

Is there any problem for them to have the check sent to a friend's checking account in the states every month and then use a credit card or debit card to get the cash? They can keep a separate account but is that legal to do?
