They ruined silent mode. I think I finally figured how I can leave my phone on, not get notifications for anything other than my alarm.

Settings>sounds and notifications>interruptions> leave the sound ON and press "when calls and notifications arrive" and select "only allow priority interruptions" ALARM IS ALWAYS A PRIORITY INTERRUPTION even is everything is unchecked.

You can access all these settings when you press the volume buttons too.

I thought I did this under vibrate and then text messages kept making the phone vibrate

Didn't work. I wonder if it is because I am using vybe for my custom vibrations (different ones for gmail, text, outlook)

I have been looking for a while for the option/add on/app that allows marking a text as read from the notifications, anybody know of one?

Ever since i got lollipop on my S5, my wifi at home wont stay connected.
It connects for a few seconds then disconnects.
When i view the available connections, it will show "Ready to connect when network quality improves"
Im not having issues other devices connected to the network.
Ive tried "forgetting the network" and restarting the modem and router.

My phone has become super slow since the lollypop update. Also the screen wont auto ajust anymore and my battery is draining double as fast as before the update.

Anyone else experiencing issues?

Go to settings > battery and check what drains it.

After updating the phone to another version of Android (Kit Kat to lollipop) it's always recommended to do a factory reset. That will take care of your issues
