I am in middle of a similar incident as @hvaces42 except my loss would be much smaller and I used USPS forst class which I don't think includes insurance. I sold a new Kindle and the buyer claims the package came empty. They sent me pictures of the envelope which seems to show the adhesive still covered by the "sticker" you are supposed to peel off. I don't recall specifically removing the "sticker", but to not do so seems very unlike me. If I did not properly close the envelope, do I have any legitimate claim from USPS? Any advice on how to proceed?
No insurance on USPS first class mail.
How will eBay/Paypal rule on dispute?
Chase purchase protection now claims
They don't claim, you admitted
I shipped it and it was delivered. It was stolen afyer delivery before reaching thr purchaser. Thats not admitting anything. You really wouldnt fare well in court.
you really wouldnt fare well in court.
Any proof at all? If not:
Yes signature of person other than adressee and delivery to different suite than addressee.
I shipped it
Buyers favor. You're SOL.
Sorry have no idea on that. What is the purchasers feedback like?
So you are saying they stole it? I thought you were blaming USPS employee for the theft? We already went through this so need to rehash it. The T&C's are clear on this.
Hate to gloat but i was right. USPS paid claim for full value of purchase from Samsung, not what I sold it for on eBay. Further proves its who you know not what you know. Friend is connected to Postal Inspection Service and they opened an investigation. Turns out the phone was stolen by a USPS employee at the stop after the post office in which i mailed it. Investigation is still ongoing but I got a check today after first appeal was denied.
