Did they tell you to call back to make sure everything is avail when you booked the ticket?
I booked the ticket online and this is the massage I got from them.

This notification is being sent to you because one or more flight segments associated with the confirmation shown above is on a codeshare partner(s). This itinerary will remain in effect for 24 hours through Mon., Feb. 24, 2014. Once our codeshare partner accepts this reservation your fare will be guaranteed, your ticket will be issued with the form of payment authorized and a receipt will be sent to you.
So I went online to brussels a day later and checked and the flight was reserved there fully do for me that ment that it went through and since it doesn't say to call united airlines I didnt call.
Now the supervisor told me its my fault that I didn't call them to confirm since I booked it with them he is saying that since I didn't get a receipt I should of called them so I told him this is not the first time I didn't get a receipt from united so since it didn't say to call them I didn't see any reason to call them.
I spoke to him for 20 mins so at the end he told me that I don't have a choice but to book a ticket for 200$ extra and then I can call the customer care and talk to them but he would not give me their number or pass me to them so now I'm screwed
