URGENT! on the phone to united ticket not there

I booked a ticket for my sister with united multi city with *A code share airlines so when I booked it they told me I should wait for the confirmation bcs they need to verify it with the other airlines so a few days later when I didn't get the confirmation and I had no patiance to call united for 3 hours I went onto the other airlines website and checked the ticket and it was there so I was sure its all good.
Now 3 days b4 we called to reserve they said that the payment didn't come through and the ticket was only reserved for 24 hr.
Now I know the CC was good and there was nothing wrong with the payment and they never let me know there is a problem so now what do I do?

Ok so I just confirmed the cc wasn't charged but it was all good from our side its their fault so now what?

If the CC wasn't charged you don't have much of a case. Are they stating something was wrong with payment?

Get the supervisor on the line and make them issue it.
This is a known issue with UA.

I'd keep calling until you get a supervisor who may be able to help you out and charge you the price listed on your original confirmation.

generally the only time you need to wait for confirmation and call back is when you do an award ticket.
If its an award ticket it was your responsibility to call within 24h to confirm that all *A members confirmed the availability.
You were told to do so and didnt do it....

I booked the ticket online and this is the massage I got from them.
Dear Ms. XXX XXXX

This notification is being sent to you because one or more flight segments associated with the confirmation shown above is on a codeshare partner(s). This itinerary will remain in effect for 24 hours through Mon., Feb. 24, 2014. Once our codeshare partner accepts this reservation your fare will be guaranteed, your ticket will be issued with the form of payment authorized and a receipt will be sent to you.
So I went online to brussels a day later and checked and the flight was reserved there fully do for me that ment that it went through and since it doesn't say to call united airlines I didnt call.
Now the supervisor told me its my fault that I didn't call them to confirm since I booked it with them he is saying that since I didn't get a receipt I should of called them so I told him this is not the first time I didn't get a receipt from united so since it didn't say to call them I didn't see any reason to call them.
I spoke to him for 20 mins so at the end he told me that I don't have a choice but to book a ticket for 200$ extra and then I can call the customer care and talk to them but he would not give me their number or pass me to them so now I'm screwed
