I know Dan has said time and time again that if Joe Smith simply wants to track his eBay expenses he can open this card. But can someone explicitly answer these two questions:

1. won't irs then expect u to file sole proprietorship forms with taxes
2. What if chase submits something to govt at end of yr summarizing business expenses

Correct; I got IB then. I think it was in July.

you only have to report to the irs if you have at least $400 of net income.

Are you suggesting that everyone here who has "businesses" never write more than $400 as their income on biz apps?

You are not telling chase that you are a complete business with forms and everything, and you are not lying about any income. I'ce spoken to them on the phone and I told them its for ebay. They were fine with it.
And so what if chase tells the IRS something. what can they tell the irs? that you have a credit card? they have no ide what the spending is for.

1. Been asked many times and the answer is still yes
2. Dan specifically answered the question in the comments :http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/43804/comment-page-1#comment-728663

If I still have my Ink (MasterCards) cards open from last year’s 60k promo and I want to apply under the SAME BUSINESS, is it possible to get the points again and then transfer my credit line and cancel the old cards? Or should I cancel first and then apply?

You can apply while it is open.

Thanks! what is the maximum amount of cards one should reasonably (without pushing it too far) apply for at one time from Chase? Business and Personal?

Not sure there is a set number, but you will most likely get multiple pulls.

What reason would you give when asked why opening more cards?

David has a Mastercard from last year, the new cards are Visa, so you just tell them that you have vendor who only accepts Visa.
