Now it is. Wait 'til it makes it to DDMS and then we'll talk...
This isn't Amex, this is NY bureaucracy here. Give it a few years for them to pick up and then another few years until someone actually does something about it...
If you wanna go fast, go aloneIf you wanna go far, go together
Just tried it tonight, I went 20 miles after the gauge was on the red line (not after the light went on, which is before the gauge reaches the red line)When I filled up, my 18 gal. tank took only 17.5 so I could've gone longer...
Doesn't sound like you have good mileage on that car. What year and type of car?
2011 Accord. There's nothing wrong with the mileage counter, it's simple, the gauge reaches the red line before the tank is empty.I believe they made it that way to avoid people getting stuck.
and they made tanks that fill above the full line to make people think they're getting a bargain
just putting it out there that running out of gas on cars with electric fuel pumps can cause damage to the fuel pump since it is cooled and lubricated by the gas
Hah, and I did run out of gas on Monday afternoon... Honda Odyssey, approximately 50 miles.... I was on the exit ramp going to the cheap gas station.... Walked over to the gas station, and was back driving in 20 minutes
Wow 50 miles is very little for a odyssey, u would think.
No, it makes sense... Approximately 2 gallons
So I guess they weren't highway miles because I assume that 2 gallons on highway would take you for more then 50.I guess "YMMV" lol.
What year Odyssey?I once went 70 miles with Sienna on empty, then at rest stop I davened first and then went to fill gas - I had to walk to get the gas... Another time I had an old american car with a quarter of a tank left, but I parked on a large incline and car wouldn't start until I added gas... So I ran out twice in 17 years, but have gone over 70 miles on empty multiple times...
Let's also imagine that "empty" is an imprecise measure. Do we mean when the needle first touches empty? Or when it solidly overlaps empty? Or when it reaches a point where it ceases to go down further? I'll check the regs.
