I would not say "there is no reason", it's actually totally possible, but I haven't heard yet of such large scale virus spreading.

Maybe install first an antivirus targeted for USB things, like https://www.smadav.net/?lang=en, and see if it pops up with something.
Ok, so I've tried loading up these USBs with music files, and it transferred fine.

However, if you try clicking on a file to listen to it, it won't play, giving some error how the file may be corrupted. Not just one, but every single one which I tried (approx 10 out of 50), so these are toasted...

The new batch came, and again it came just dumped into the box. Tried them out, and they worked exactly like the first bad batch. Errr. I'll have to contact Amazon later for a refund...

The interesting thing is, one of the 2 boxes that came originally, which came neatly and professionally packed, those work great. I tried a bunch of those and had no issues. Just makes you wonder...

And yes @mevinyavin , (not that I really ever doubted you), you were right all along: That-

you DO need brand name.

And that-

Fake drives often have all sorts of shenanigans played with the file system. Statistically, you will get more duds, but you also may not be able to tell until your recipient tries to copy it off and gets an error message. It's like playing roulette with the data.
Cheap drives from name-brands may also be DOA (when you buy bulk), but if they do work, they will work until someone eats them by mistake (or any other mishap).
Lastly, do you know how long it takes to copy 3GB to a USB 2.0 drive?

And that-

they will give you lots of agmas nefesh.

Thanks @mevinyavin and @Yisroel Tech for your assistance.

I ordered 2 packs of 50 USB's (4GB)  (Knockoffs. Not brand name.) Oddly, each one came in a separate package, although I ordered them at the exact same time. Anyhow, one box was all neat, with the contents looking professionally packed. However, with the second one, the contents were just dumped in the box, seemingly opened, and then returned by different customer.

Contacted Amazon, they replaced it by ordering me a new one, and said I don't need to return the old ones...

Is it safe to use those USBs? Anything to worry about? Should I just chuck all of them?
Just format it prior using
