In case no one has noticed I haven't posted in that thread. So it would seem that a trigger for a thread going PC is not CM.

Being that DDF is a very broad spectrum of people, it is very hard to have a proper argument without everyone adding their 2 cents based on their personal hashkafah and where they're holding with life.

CM, that is why you're getting very conflicting reports in the various threads. One DDFer might be a very right wing guy who sits and learns all day, and he's arguing with a very left winger who thinks that there should be a two state solution. Obviously I am bringing the two extremes, but you can clearly see where people are holding in life by the way they argue in these threads.

Who needs a thread like this? I just read these popcorn threads, and learn more about you than you'll ever want to know.

I think you are missing the big picture. You will always have individuals at the opposite sides of the spectrum. That does not change what the law is. Take two hot issues in US politics, abortion and gay marriage. You can argue all you want the why, what, when, where and anything else but in the end even the nutcases understand they are both legal. There is no central authority or one that can be agreed to in the issues they arguing in these threads. That just creates chaos.

Have the current laws in the examples you cited always been that way?

I guess that would depend on what decision you are talking about. I am assuming there is a point you want to make instead of just asking questions.

From my understanding we don't judge individual cases and make a decision that this women has completed more of her mission then the man or vice versa. How are we to know who has completed their mission on this world and who hasn't.
