Several times. Criminal and civil. If one wanted to it is very easy to persuade members of a jury.

Very interesting read. By the time you were done, how many days did it take for you? Based on my reading it took 3 days? And they only pay you 50% of your actual paycheck, correct? (Just trying to understand the process, not stir a pot)

I got paid $40 a day for the 3 days

Some employers pay you full during your time on jury duty.

ETA: And you don't have to use up any official 'time off'.

I didn't have a job at the time (kollel), but perhaps I would have gotten something more? I don't know. I'm pretty sure most other jurors were getting paid by their jobs, so this was basically extra paid vacation for them.
