What are your thoughts? Would a free car rental be a decision maker in the girl you are going to date? I think its pathetic!

I don't think it's meant to be a decision maker. But if before now someone with two equally good options would look into the younger girl first maybe now he will first pursue the older girl. The goal is to negate the taboo that surrounds "older girls"

why would this change anything? The decision when Looking for a life partner should not be altered in anyway by a free car rental! Don't get me wrong I have nothing against marrying an "older girl" but this should not change someone's decision...

Cost/benefit. The perception is that there's a low benefit to dating "older" girls, so not worth the investment. If you lower the investment enough people will be willing to give it a shot (if you lower the investment to $2 plus time spent on line people will be interested in even more ridiculous odds).

Sign doesn't say anywhere "older girl" all it says is new arrival dating a girl 21 or older. Most new arrivals are about 22, so it means that they'll be close in age.

i agree with this 100% I did not read the article in question but to my knowledge until now free rental cars were for dating girls 23+. I do not look at 21 as being old at all. In fact for me it's more preferable than 19, but I don't argue with free things

No one is telling you to marry one girl over the other bc of a rental car
They are just telling you to be open minded
And why a 20 year old in school is more appealing than a 22-23 year old who works is beyond me

I'm my humble opinion it's counterproductive. It actually makes it feal as if something is wrong with her and you are therefore willing to compensate for someone willing to go out with her. The idea of paying a shadchun a bonus for making these type of shidduchim is a much better idea.

Again, read the article guys. All it is, is an incentive to date a girl close in age. Nothing to do with older.
There is another sponsor that gives free card for girls over 25, don't mix that up with this.

Fun fact about that that very episode: they went to a Dodger game, and caught a guy on camera who had been charged with murder. The clip gave him an alibi and he was acquitted.
