Does anyone know what the story is with Verizon cell phone/data service in Puerto Rico? Is it just like the U.S.? Or will I get charged for roaming? It is not clear after speaking with representatives and researching online?

IME there's no roaming charges.

I did and they said they no longer sell day passes to non guests. Hoping to connect with someone who will be staying at the resort during Yeshiva week who would be willing to let us purchase tickets through them. Would also love to hear from anyone who has had success doing this in the past.

Like it sounds. A week (or a bit more) when Yeshiva's have sort of a mid-winter break, can be in late January or early February.

Sounds more like "no-yeshiva week". Where I come from, they call it midwinter vacation.

Then again, my "boss" has never been there before, so she probably doesn't have the best sense of the pros and cons.

Kosher food is nothing to stay in old San Juan for.
If you want a more downtown area as opposed to a report, then I found condado to be the nicest.

The daily minyan and chabad (possibly kosher food as well, if you order in advance) is in Isla Verda. Not the most beautiful place.

im going to be in the SJ area for 2 days of the following what should be my priority?
El Yunque Rainforest
Old San Juan area/Forts
ATV/Horse back riding
Can i do all that in 2 days and still have time to stay on beach??
How ling do i need for the rainforest and for the Old SJ area?
