Do you have to be Plat when the ticket is cancelled to redeposit, or only when it is issued?

before january lots of people got it... combine a few dl accounts to make platinum and status match.    now there's no combining delta and there's no status match to co so, ya, it is definitely no small feat.

I didn't mean you personally, I meant one would have to be platinum at the time of cancellation to be able to redeposit CO award tickets with no fee.

i'm sorry if i missed it,but what is the easiest way of achieving platinum status?(if there is one besides for flying all those miles:)
