You do not need to apply a GOH award. Once the account has reached Globalist, the benefits will be applied at check-in and this has always been the case - whatever status you have during check-in, you will get the appropriate benefits based on that current status.

You can transfer the GOH award to the non-globalist account and you would have to call customer service to have the award applied to the existing reservation.

I believe you can just get a GOH award and then apply it to the existing reservation.

What do you mean by the booking is gifted? Was it a guest of honor reservation?

Generally, whoever’s name is on the reservation should get the GOH award & have it applied to the reservation.
