I don’t believe it on DL stock.
Do you want screenshots? To be fair I haven't called AF yet, they should be able to cancel it, it's just annoying that the OTA insisted that it was not a refundable fare and wouldn't cancel it for free even though they could see the fare change and that it was originally booked in a different fare class.

I believe anything about an OTA. Call Delta

You're right, it's definitely possible that both AF and DL can now touch the ticket but the entire thing is still very annoying, AF website says to call OTA, OTA says they can't touch it, have to ask AF for control back, I'm confident I'll get it done, it's just annoying.

One or two brief phone calls to Delta will resolve it easily

Hopefully, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

1. 45K CSR, travel time 8:41
LAX-EWR 787-10 J lie-flat (red-eye with 4:39 blocked flight time)
2:16 in EWR
EWR-CLE E175 F (1:46 blocked flight time)

Or

2. 14.5K UA, travel time 8:17
LAX-ORD 757-300 Y+ (red-eye with 3:50 blocked flight time, 90% odds of comp upgrade to domestic F)
3:09 in ORD (probably would Uber to a breakfast joint)
ORD-CLE CRJ-550 Y+ (1:18 blocked flight time, New plane type for me, 99% odds of comp upgrade to domestic F)

For a red-eye lie-flat would be more important than a new type IMO.

Option 1 is far more comfortable. May be able to SDC onto it for less.

Sure, but is a potential ~3 hours of sleep worth the premium?
Plus I do like the breakfast at Bond in Chicago and I get to try the 550.

Decisions decisions.

Option 1, and it's not even close.

That said, I avoid redeyes like the plague, so I'd choose neither.

Couldn't justify the extra miles and extra time in a plane and airport with a mask on, went with option 2.

Debating which flight to take.

Option 1:

MLE - AUH on EY in J 11:45PM - 3:05AM on a A320
AUH - JFK on EY in F 8:10AM - 1:50PM on a 787-9

Pros: Fly in F for the long haul
Cons: It's not the A380 & the flight times are horrible

or

Option 2:

MLE - DXB on EK in J 6:20PM - 9:35PM on a 777
DXB - JFK on EK in J 8:30AM - 1:55PM on a 777

Pros: Normal flight times
Cons: J on the 777 isn't great

If I take option 1, I'll have several hours layover in MLE in addition to the 5 hour layover in AUH in middle of the night. On the other hand, flying on EK J isn't too great based on the pictures I've seen.

Alternatively, I can go:

MLE - DXB in J on a 777
DXB - LHR - in F on A380
LHR - JFK in J on AA 777

Longer travel time, but can fly the shower class.

Option 1.

Option 2 has a long layover.
Also option 1 give potentially time to sleep on the flight
While Option 2 - layover is the middle of night with a really long stop.
