Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

I opened a new card on May 28.  For some reason, my first statement closed June 4.
The end of the 37 days is July 4.  Should I move the due date?  To what new date?

The 37 day window is from AF posting, not account opening. And since I doubt your AF posted on your first day, you actually have until July 10 to cancel and be refunded the AF.

Regarding moving the due date. The theory only works prior to AF posting, so no difference for you even if there's something to it.

Isn't the reason you're canceling to avoid paying the AF?

Does it make sense to open a new AA FF account for my new card application in case they flag my current account (I sold miles), this way I won't lose everything or will they clean any account in my name if I get flagged anyway?

Is it 30 or 37 days to cancel and avoid the AF on Citi Exec card? Some  are saying 30 days from the date the fee is charged. some are saying it is 37 days from the date the fee is charged? The Citi rep told me 30 days from when it is charged. Thanks
