+1 either it's ok or it's not.
If this gets moved to JS everyone be forewarned you will need a good supply of popcorn. Until then I will not post in this thread anymore.
If not for the fact that I try not to get involved in these ridiculous debates online, I would do the same.
Perhaps "Baal Nefesh Yachmir."
I try and try but can't help getting pulled in.
Why? If it's mutar, it's mutar, no?

It seems you run on a different frequency than me
Alos, Rabbi Olbaum, gave a partial endorsement...doesn't seem to think its shabbosdik either
I'm confused by that. If he's a big enough posek (and I believe he is) to give a haskama on a completely revolutionary technology, the use of which is a matter of life and karais, why can't he weigh in on the spirit of Shabbos question? Why pass that one off to the LORs?
Is it not? There's that whole random thing thrown in but if you wait long enough (and by long enough I mean less than a minute or 2) the thing will definitely turn on.
Let's say there's a 75% chance the circuit catches, and it reattempts every 5 seconds. I don't that would be a psik reish just because the odds are it will turn on pretty quickly. It's possible that it will never turn on.
It's possible that it will never turn on.
Is that true? I didn't see that mentioned. That would be really annoying.
Is it possible that you will flip a coin 1,000 times and never get heads?
I don't see why not, the odds on each flip are 50/50 but overall there is no guarantee it'll ever land on heads.
That would be really annoying.
Excellent, I'll give you 1,000 to 1 odds, so you'll earn $1,000 for every $1 you put up to bet, deal?
