George Wallace won 45 in 1968 according to the article.

I will note that the author shows a deficient understanding of the process it goes to Congress. He suggests that in order to win in the House, one would have to have cross-party support. That is not at all the case.

Republicans currently have a majority in 26 of the delegations. Assuming that is still the case after the election, there is close to zero chance that they choose Kennedy.
