Sure. Meh. Harsh.
Didn't mean to thread-crap, whatever the heck that is. I just don't understand why all this work is put in to upgrade the wiki of a personal, limited list, when it could be updating wikis that are far more useful.
Now you know sometimes it's better to keep your opinion to yourself...

I think we should somehow create a poll of each and every restaurant and let ppl vote 0-10 and we would get a very good idea about each restaurant. It would be a great resource
+100 That would be awesome!!!

Why not set up a poll for each of the places, and allow ppl to vote on the grade?

Not really. There are good opinions and bad ones. In this case you were giving non-constructive or counter-constructive criticism, so I'd label it a bad opinion, and better kept to yourself IMHO. Besides have you never heard of a food critic? (rhetorical question)

I like Dan, but I don't think that just anyone can qualify to be a food critic. I doubt anyone on this site is qualified.
Still non-constructive?

Why do you think so?  What does a person need to do to be considered a food critic?  I would think a person who has eaten at several restaurants around the world (sometimes many times each) would know whats good food and whats not.

http://www.wikihow.com/Become-a-Food-Critic doesn't seem to hard. Over the past many years people have followed Dan's opinion on what he ate on his trips and where. I think that makes him a critic right there. Have you been to this many restaurants in the past 2 years and remember them all with ratings? Don't you think that shows something.

Yes non-constructive. Like I said people value his opinion, and they want to make it easily accessible. So they made a nice wiki. You sticking your opinion in telling people not to is just not needed. Hence the term thread-crapping. You think Dan did this whole write up for his health? How would you feel if you put what probably took hours of work and someone bashed it because he thinks it is a waste of time, being that it's just one guys opinion. Clearly some people value that opinion which is why he did it in the first place.

I made my comments before I got to hear your opinions. Saying that my comments are non-constructive ex-post-facto is just monday morning quarterbacking. Which reminds me of the SB that I'm sure you'll accurately predict on 2/4.

And like jj said, he's not posting his opinion for no reason. He's sharing his experiences bec many people trust his taste and go by his opinion.

I don't see the flame war.
You posted non-constructive criticism and don't seem to understand that.
Just move on, no need to keep it alive by responding.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I responded to that already. Yes, I posted non-constructive criticism. I didn't understand the value. I saw the responses. But telling me

I'd label it a bad opinion, and better kept to yourself IMHO

is basically telling the entire world to never post another opinion, because it might turn out wrong in the future.
