They have their own network, in the NY, NJ they have "decent" coverage, but travel somewhere and you'll be using payphones.
It's been a while since anyone responded to this post.According to Metro PCS's new coverage maps there should be no issue in the major Frum areas like Lakewood, Monsey and NYC.Can someone confirm this?
I don't know about now, but I had them for a while a few years ago, and it was quite bad.
Thanks for the replies. What about Straight Talk? How is it in Lakewood, Monsey and NYC? I think it runs on Verizon towers.
It runs on t-mobile.
Not necessarily. They use Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile depending on the phone or the sim card you use.
1 - So if I got a phone from Straight Talk that runs on Verizon towers wouldn't that be my best choice? (They are charging $45 for unlimited talk and text with 5 gb of high-speed data.)2 - How would I know which phone of theirs (or if I'd by the phone elsewhere) would run on Verizon towers?
Thanks for the replies. What about Straight Talk?
I use their home phone and it works fine.
And their cell service?
