Google Voice may save a number as a home number, and in that mode it will not allow you to forward messages. In order to change that there's an option in legacy site.

It will work
When I switched my # from Boost to Sprint, it didn't work overnight.

Maybe it was worse because it's the same company.

No because the switch happened in 5 min.
A port from mobile company to mobile company should not take more than 1-2 min (ever).
If it takes longer there is something wrong with
1. the porting company
2. the info
3. the previous company not releasing

I agree that they messed up, I'm just saying that it could happen.

All my google voice numbers suddenly stopped receiving calls. Missed incoming calls don't even show up in history. (Still able to place calls though)
Anyone else please check if you also have incoming calls issues?

having trouble listening to my voicemail, when I call in to my google voice number it gives me the option to listen to my messages (which have someone speaking because I get a written transcript) but when I listen I hear nothing, same happens when I check online at google voice...

anyone have the same issue?

anyone have a way to get it to work

Try leaving yourself a message and see what happens.

Is it possible to have a google voice # forward to someone's cell phone, but play the google voicemail recording if the person doesn't answer?
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

What if you have it set to ring on the other phone, instead of forward?

I'd think that covers what you're looking to do.

I have that by having GV at fewer rings than the VM

I think it's already set like that:

Makes sense. I can't find where to set how many rings GV goes for - any ideas?

Yes,
Fwd the cell phone to the GV #.
For Verizon dial on cellphone *7thenareacodeandphonenumber (like that, don't dial *7 and then dial phone #)

We don't want the cell phone to forward to GV, since the GV number is rarely used and we want to be able to change whose cell phone it forwards to.
