Anyone have any personal experience? I see the soft ones are way cheaper. How easy is it to install/remove without rooftop bars? Are they durable?

All I remember is that the soft ones have more air resistance and are louder inside the car.

I used to sell them. They won’t last as long as the hard ones but they are much more practical, you can store it in small spaces...

In terms of noise the main reason for the noise is the straps if you don’t leave any flaps you will have very little noise.

Very useful even for traveling by plane, if you rent a car later.
In one trip you easily save yourself a lot of money.

The carrier purports: Massive 21 cubic feet (L52" x W39.5" x H17.5")
Delivery boxes from KRM (which are smaller than true 'egg boxes') are L19" x W11" x H13"


You're able to fit 8 KRM boxes inside.
3 boxes side by side (3 x 11") filling the width of the carrier (39.5").
2 rows deep (2 x 19") leaves 14" more for another box sideways.


Or you can fit 2 boxes turned the other way, (2 x 19") carrier (39.5)
Then you can fit 4 rows (4 x 11") into the length of the carrier(52")


That leaves 5" above the boxes for more stuff.

in the end I went with https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07M93RZLZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 due to the last minute decision and needing it next day
I was extremely happy with it. I would though go with the bigger one.

Above -I think around- 50 mph it was.
Nothing crazy. was still way quieter than my neighbors yeshivish minivan ;)
Ride was perfectly fine even above 80 mph. Won’t deny that I was nervous in the beginning and kept on looking up to make sure it’s still there!
I 1000% recommend it to Any family wasting time stuffing up their auto.
