Would this not be the Rema and Taz that if one side is open it's enough? Or is that not by moisef hevel?

Not understanding how this would be considered one side open?

I'm with @aygart

Not sealed ≠ Open (especially if touching)
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Because it can't be a snug fit if it's not zippered. And unless it's a huge pan, probably not actually touching all the side walls either, in which case in can even be zippered closed.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

@דיינים מומחים:

I generally use my hotlogics for fleishig (pan directly on the tray), and occasionally for double-wrapped milchigs.

I had a milchig pan somehow leak hot cheese onto the tray. What's the warmer's status now?

That was not the impression I was left with when I used it for the intended size pan, but I can see how that would be a judgment call. With pans smaller than the device size, that makes sense, but considering that the cover rests directly on the pan cover, it is not clear that this is enough with an internal heat source, but I hear.

lichatchilas  you should not use it with meat in a pan unless you put a sheet of foil between. You can kasher it by pouring boiling water while it is hot on just the spot where the cheese was and can use just a small amount of water even while it is ben yomo.

Why don’t you need to kasher the whole surface?

Thanks, I'll kasher it then.

Why don’t you need to kasher the whole surface?

I actually will for the simple reason that I cleaned up the spill so I don't know exactly where it was anymore.

The top actually kind of bubbles. It rests more on the walls than on the pan. It touches some of it, but not all of it.

@דיינים מומחים:

how would you deal with the green pareve knife that oops touched hot meat?
Kasher, how so?
repurpose it for fleshing's, it will just add confusion,
dump it, ok
add a red layer with a 3d printer and buy a new one.

This.

But you would need to change your DDF handle to something more futuristic/21st century oriented.

Same goes even if it would have been a milchig knife and used for meat on the grill, according to the Alter Rebbe. I wonder if Lubavitcher's follow this.
