was in a car accident yesterday (lady skipped a stop sign)(LAKEWOOD), and today my neck and part of my back hurts. if i feel like i may need medical help how do i go about it now? do i contact a lawyer?

i dont want to just take free money and the other partys insurance will go up accordingly, on the other hand i dont want to handle this the wrong way in case i do need medical treatment, as of now im in a little pain and otherwise would not run to a dr if it gets better on its own...but if it doesnt get better i dont want to lose out because i didnt act in a timely fashion...

In NJ you will claim medical from your own insurance. if that will affect your premium.. not sure
Seems like if I need any medical help it’s best to pay out of pocket as I don’t want my premiums to go up…
Are you claiming collision? IIRC only collision will increase your premium
FTR some people actually do feel REAL pain due to whiplash… it’s not always a way to milk insurance companies, although I do appreciate the humor…

i think its under PIP. as to premium increase it seems like it may effect it even if i am not at fault...
If she's found at fault, her insurance pays and your premiums are unaffected.
