Jewish History and Presence:
Tenerife has a rich Jewish history dating back to the 15th century. For more information on the history of Jews in the Canary Islands, including the presence of Conversos and Crypto-Jews, visit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_the_Canary_Islands

Chabad of Tenerife:
- Website: https://www.chabadtenerife.com/
- Established: 2022
- Shliach: Rabbi Noam Rosen and his wife
- Contact: Highly responsive on WhatsApp, warm and friendly

Kosher Food Options:
1. Chabad's Kosher Offerings:
   - Year-round takeout for lunch and dinner
   - Kosher staples: Pas Yisrael bread, Cholov Yisrael milk, glatt kosher meat, chicken, and more
   - Shabbos meals (reservation required)
   - A la carte Shabbos takeout option

2. To Order:
   - Takeout: https://app.flowiz.io/tenf/en/
   - Shabbos meal reservation: https://app.flowiz.io/tenr/f/

3. Kosher App: "Kosher app Spain" (recommended for finding kosher options)

Shabbos Tips:
- Chabad has two locations:
  1. Food takeout and pickup (further from hotels)
  2. Shabbos location (closer to hotels, used for meals)
- Mikvah: Currently no Mikvah in Tenerife, but the shlucha offers to take people to the sea. Plans for a Mikvah in the future.

Accommodation:
1. Fine Hotels and Resorts Program (Amex Platinum):
   - $200 off one night, per card, per year
   - Two options: Bahia del Duque and Ritz Carlton
   - Benefits: Breakfast, $100 US/EUR credit, upgrade, early check-in, late checkout

2. Ritz Carlton:
   - Popular among kosher observant Jews
   - Accommodating for kosher food groups
   - Good relationship with Chabad

3. Other Options:
   - Several nice hotels near Chabad
   - For Airbnb rentals, research the area thoroughly

Transportation:
1. Rental Cars:
   - Limited on-airport pickup/dropoff options (often at a premium)
   - Summer months: Advance reservations recommended due to limited availability
   - 6-7 seaters are extremely limited

2. Uber:
   - New to Tenerife, Uber is available, and somewhat pricey - but convenient and familiar. Don't expect to uber to your trips though as it's not necessarily widely available across the island. The main cities seem to have decent enough availability.

2. Public Transport: [To be added]

Activities: [To be added]

Other Tips:
- Chabad's New Location: In process of relocating. New place will have a shul and full-fledged restaurant for takeout and dine-in. Expected to be near the Costa Adeje Area.

Without a doubt the Canary Islands are a bucket list destination.

The Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago off the coast of northwestern Africa, are rugged volcanic isles known for their black- and white-sand beaches. Tenerife, the largest island, is dominated by the sometimes-snowy active volcano Mt. Teide.

Population: 2.207 million (2019) Eurostat
Capitals: Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Municipality of Las Palmas
Founded: August 10, 1982
Area: 2,893 mi²
Currency: the Euro

Now, with a Chabad Shliach who has an excellent kosher takeout offering - Tenerife enters the few incredible places one can travel to, with no worries about food at all - and at very reasonable prices.
Keeping kosher at a beautiful resort is now in reach, in the canary islands.
Full trip report to come.
