Think of Moving?

Airports:
  • CLE is about 15 minutes from downtown and 25-30 minutes from the Jewish community.  It's a focus city for Frontier, Spirit, and United.
  • The RTA (Rapid transit train) at Brookpark station has free parking and is just 1 train stop (3 minutes) to the stop inside the airport. The train costs $2.50 and the schedule is here: http://www.riderta.com/routes/redline/schedules/current#WestboundWeekday
An uber from Brookpark station to CLE is about $10.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CLE is about $30.
  • CLE off-site parking is about $9/day, on-site parking is $17-$22/day, and curbside valet parking is $35/day.
  • CAK is ~40 minutes from the Jewish community and located nearby the NFL Hall of Fame.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CAK is about $45.
  • CAK parking is $7/day for long-term and $15-$18/day for short-term.
  • PIT is ~100 minutes from the Jewish community. It offers nonstop service to London, Montreal, and more.

Hotels:
  • There is a Hyatt Place in Legacy Village within walking distance of the Jewish community, though it's located just outside of the Eruv. It costs only 8K points/night.
  • There is a nice Hyatt Regency downtown for 12K points/night (25 minutes drive) in a unique vintage arcade building and an excellent spa that gives hotel guests 25% off and accepts SpaFinder certs from Costco that can be purchased for an additional 20% off.
  • The nicest hotel in Cleveland is like the Ritz-Carlton downtown. Marriott's Metropolitan at The 9 is also highly regarded, with a bar in an old vault. There is also a Hilton, Westin, and Kimpton downtown.

Transportation:
  • There is a subway/light rail connecting the airport with downtown, University Circle (where the Case campus and many museums are) and the Jewish community area, but renting a car is pretty much required unless you are just going between the airport and downtown.

Personally I haven't been.

The owner consulted with me extensively over the course of a year, for which I donated many hours of my time as I made an open offer to anyone wanting to open a food establishment in CLE. Then he changed course and decided to make it C"S lehachis so that he doesn't have the C"Y crowd and it could be more "inclusive" to the greater community.

After I made an offer to subsidize the C"Y cost, he bizarrely became downright nasty to me.

For what it's worth, Heinen's has delicious Pas Yisroel bagels in their bakery section, and 4 bagels are just $3.80. That's my go-to since Milky Way murdered the Bagel Shoppe bagels.

I haven’t either and I eat C”S, and nobody I know has either been there. Makes me wonder how it’s going for him. People with an attitude like that aren’t usually matzliach.
Milky Way bagels are awesome!

Probably going fine. He made it perfectly clear that he doesn't want or need the frum crowd.

Milky Way bagels were delicious under the Bagel Shoppe. Now they've gotten worse, pricier, and with bad service since Ben left. Heinen's is the way to go IMHO, though MW isn't a bad option to have I guess.

Heinens has their own bagels that are Pas Yisroel or they just sell a brand that is?

They're packaged in Heinen's bags and sold from their bakery in the back. They're KVH-Pas Yisroel, so maybe @moko can explain how that works.

Delicious and very inexpensive bagels in several flavor options (Plain, everything, blueberry, sesame, onion, whole wheat, etc).
Beware of Asiago, which is in the same location with no hechsher.

Nice. What are the logistics of that operation? Do they get them pre-bagged fresh? Or frozen?

Surprising how few people know about it and that they don't carry them in the kosher section.

Interesting. I guessed that was the reason he didn't make them CY. Incidentally, I have gone occasionally (location is a pain for me), and the bagels are excellent. Fwiw he's always been friendly to me when I was there. I never got the feeling that the CY community (for lack of a better term) wasn't welcome. I don't blame you for having the feelings you do based on your experience.

Don't they realize they could actually attract customers if they had even decent bagels? Right now I'd rather get "bagels" (ie bagel shaped rolls) at the grove than their bagels.

Can say the same for the rest of their food, no?
Easily the worst plain pizza out of the 4 options here.

Heinens bagels are much better and cheaper than Grove or Ungers bagels. I'm sure they don't compare to NB though. But they are less than half the price and far more convenient.
