Topic Wiki

Here is a site with updated list of airlines flying or not flying:
https://www.passportcard.co.il/article/airlines-at-war/
in Hebrew

If it says, for example:
לא (כל הטיסות מבוטלות עד ל05.09)

It means as of now they are not flying until Dec. 5, not including, meaning they are set to restart on Dec 5.

Many airlines keep on pushing off the restart date.

Turns out Virgin has been most generous/considerate in this situation.

They always have been
I remember in the past sending a family member who had a mild vision issue with them
Marked them with the visual limitation flag and they were asked by check-in the gate on board if they needed any accomodations
Only airline that I have ever seen follow up on the vision flag

Our LH flights from TLV to EWR via FRA were canceled yesterday as they only reinstated 1 daily flight.

We can switch to fly via ZRH but for a 1:05 stopover, or go via VIE with 1:40 stopover.

What is better?
Is it a risk to have such a short stopover in ZRH? I don't recall it to be a large airport.
Better to rebook to LX but shorter, or OS with a longer stopover?

If we miss the connection in ZRH, it seems we would need to stay overnight.

Options
weds TLV 1 pm, stopover ZRH 1:05 > EWR 8:25 pm
tues or thurs TLV 6am > VIE 1:40 stop > EWR 2:15 pm

TIA!!

I have been following these flights on frightradar24. It seems that almost all flight are landing late. Something to keep in mind with a tight connection.

I also had weird flight things happening. I booked IAD-FRA-TLV on Sunday through Capital One. I was looking at my flights today on Lufthansa/United and it wasn't showing the FRA-TLV leg. I called Capital One and they told me FRA-TLV was cancelled by Lufthansa, I told them it is still available for purchase and they just reinstated it. They said it was cancelled some time since Sunday but than reinstated.

These flights - TLV - ZRH? By how much? So it is likely we will miss the connection and have to fly the next morning? If that happens, would they pay for a hotel overnight?

Ryanair just cancelled most flights until the end of Mar.
so that means that the remaining flights will operate?

Wow! So if the flight gets in 30 minutes late and we have 35 minutes to takeoff of the flight ZRH - EWR, is it possible to make it? Maybe the flights to EWR are also delayed?

Would they pay for our hotel overnight? (it seems there are no options to fly out to EWR until the am.)

No. Unless they make an official return statement.

Swiss has the last flight of the day going to EWR waiting for many late arriving passengers. That flight always leaves later. Unless your flight is extremely delayed you'll be fine. The airport is deserted at that time of the day in that part of the terminal so there is not an issue usually.

Had the same thing on a booking made on UA. They switched my client to UA85 which will almost definitely get cancelled.  My backup plan is this Swiss option.
Either way, it’s good to see they adjusted the schedule to enable a short connection to the US.
