@AsherO

I would like a list of potential pitfalls. This is not the Shulchan Aruch here, but to raise awareness, so people will know to look into it, or ask their rabbi.

I am not sure what you are trying to show other than that R Karp feels that R Elyashiv holds a certain way. We know very well that this does not preclude there being other opinions. It is also interesting how he conflates those who discussed incandescent which can be a fire with LEDs that are not immediately after he himself made the disctinction.

I am not sure what you are not sure about.

Imo he presents compelling reasoning that a traditional ďnerĒ isnít necessary.

We understand that there are those who hold this way and there are also those who don't such as Har Zvi brought in Kovetz Halachos. Once it gets to LEDs there are even more. How do you see otherwise just because he brings one way from R Elyashiv? Nobody said that it is an opinion that nobody holds of.

I donít understand your question.

RMF says safek brachos lehakeil, so don't make a brachah.

what's the safek? it seems either your rav will hold its good or its not, in which case your Rav will paskin for you either to make a bracha or not, but like I said, any rav i asked told me to make a bracha, so Im not sure why its so easy to blatantly say that candles have a place in hospitals "but not with a bracha"

The safek is some say you should make a brachah and some say you shouldn't.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Unlikely that that was the safek of RMF

Maybe, but the reasons on both sides could be the safek.

no because whatever rav you ask will give you a psak of whether to or not and again in my experience everyone has said you do. so there is zero place to say that there is definitely no bracha out of safek whether or not to make one as many chasuv people paskin to make the bracha lmaasah thats all im saying.

All I said is that R Moshe held not to make a brachah because of safek brachos lehakel.

דור המלקטים has an extensive list לכאן ולכאן. But the argument would go that many arguments NOT to make the bracha wouldn't apply to battery operated lamps. OTOH of those who hold that a bracha CAN be made, may say so on only for incandescent and not LED.

Many of them clearly write that a bracha can be made even if not incandescent

My point is that this topic is completely and soley up for each personís rav to answer for them and not for people on a forum to discuss what the halacha is because since as it has been shown there are several opinions each way there is no way for anyone on here to make a concrete discussion or have any opinion as to what the answer should be and it should only be based off a psak of a rav and not what someone feels they think is the right answer.

Why in the world shouldn't people discuss it on a forum?
