So it would be a bad idea to open a gentleman’s club there?

All you need is to get one of the Rebbe's to ban it and then the other will host the event.

Anyway who said it's for the chassidim? Maybe hipsters like DD also.

Shoot, I was right next to the Satmer Rebbe or KJ last week in Palm springs. Could have worked something out with his Gabai.

I know I will probably get laughed at, but what about a #DDSTORONTO? There are plenty of US citizens living in Toronto, and if Israel is a possibility, then Toronto should be also!

Can I bring up something a bit off topic.

I think the price of $10 is very cheap you learn so much knowledge worth so much money.

And all profit is going to charity if they're only making $5k thats not allot.

every small fundraiser takes $18-36 entrance fee.

+1 I don't see why he would. Almost all deals are US based.

The credit card points+bookings are applicable here too. Many of us here are US citizens also so we can get US credit cards also. Additionally, there are some decent (at best) Canadian credit cards that are the same (Amex has  SPG and MR cards here).

If he is considering Israel, he should at least give it some thought....

DDS's should be free. It works out better for attendance when people have to pay a nominal fee of say $10, so they don't book and not show up. This way the room will be full and maximizing the amount of people benefiting from the seminar.

If a charity can make some money from this as well all the better. But it is not a charity fundraiser, it's to benefit DD readers. Some people can't afford much more than $10 and they shouldn't have to pay more than that. Everyone is free to donate more to the charity on their own.

And what exactly is the organization doing? Every other fundraiser the "fundraiser" puts a lot of time, money and effort in, here what are they doing?

Why in the world should DDS be free?
Dan puts in time and effort and deserves to make money and allocate it to charity.

And regarding the ppl that dont have more $10 everyone has some masier מעשר
