Ok, so I am planing a small trip to china in a few months, and have a couple of questions, if anyone here can help out- it will be greatly appreciated!

1) anyone have any contact info for the Israeli tour guide in the area - Gal Dvir?

2)Anyone know of where one can get kosher food in shanghai?

3) anything to do there for more then one day?
2) There's a Kosher restaurant and Kosher store at the Chabad House.
3)Definitely.

Depends on what kind of things you want to do, we spent some time walking around downtown Pudong one night going to different hotel lobbies (The Hyatt and Shangri-La are not to be missed) they have an awesome aquarium, the TV tower if you have time, with the Shanghai Meuseum in the basement. Off the top of my head.

Great, will do some more research...

Is it worth staying in that Hyatt?
(I have the two free signup nights expiring end of this month, would have to try to push them to extend a little...)

Haven't stayed there but I can imagine it would be quite an experience, the Hyatt is the top 30 floors of an 87 story building the lobby is on the 57th floor and all the rooms are surrounding the main atrium looking down into the lobby, standing on the balcony on the 30th floor looking into the lobby below is quite a dizzying experience.

Me too, although I disliked the city based on the 12 hours I was there. Shluchim there are great though. Shlucha is from Cleveland.

I'd take Tokyo over Shanghai 100 times to 1. Just my opinion based on a short stay though.

Nope. Got robbed by a taxi driver though. And offered women many times, by 10 year old boys.

I edited my previous post slightly.

It seems none of the Hyatt hotels are anywhere near the chabad (weekday minyanim, and cafe) which is in the Hongqiao area (as far as I can tell),

Is that an issue? How hard to get around? (I there always traffic?)

If yes- any recommended hotels closer to them?

If you are looking for a *W hotels, this one is 20 min walk:

The following hotel is about 40 min away by taxi and subway, much nicer hotel and more central for other attractions:
