On the way here: (the major stops)
NY > MKE > ORD > Bryce Canyon NP > Zion NP > LAX > Berkeley

For the way back I'll probably do
Berkeley > Yellowstone / Grand Teton > Mt Rushmore (maybe Wind Cave if there's time) > Badlands > MKE > NY > Cape Cod

I guess this update is a few months overdue...
That drive back from CA to NY is definitely my current craziest drive.

My itinerary ended up being
Berkeley > Yellowstone / Grand Teton > Mt Rushmore (+ some smaller attractions in the black hills area) > Badlands > MKE > NY (for a few hours) > Cape Cod
What made it particularly crazy was that we left Berkeley Tues. evening and didn't stop (other than for the attractions, gas etc.) until we hit Milwaukee Friday morning. -which wouldn't have been so crazy in of itself, had I not done it with my wife and 3 small children. (ages barely 2 - 6 at the time)
Wow got me jealous! On both legs.

Craziest trip for me: I was driving to Atlanta from NY 10 years ago to register my car there, I left wed. night with only my 13 year old brother for company, got a ticket for speeding and got to Atlanta at 6 am. Spent the day hanging out and then headed back that night with only an hours sleep and needing to get back to NY for shabbos. So as soon as it got dark, I feel exhausted, and keep needing to pull onto the shoulder for catnaps.  So I took some nodoz, but that didnt help. So by the next truck stop I asked them for something that would wake me up saying nodoz didnt help. They said yeah, it never worked for me, try this and gave me something called "black Ice" an over the counter natural thingie. WEll I took it, and 20 minutes later pulled over for another nap. Next thing I know, I am driving in the left lane, and my mind seemed brain washed, my mind kept telling me "nothing is true except you can slow down under 60 or go over 75, at which point I realized that this is insane but couldnt seem to get out of this mode for what felt like hours! After I managed to "deprogram" myself  I realized I was driving like that for 5 miles based on the mile marker where I pulled over for my nap. Ever since then I avoid all those "natural" pills. Although for the record, A friend of mine, who I told the story to purposefully tried to take no doz and black ice together but did not get any reaction.

This was a very short but very memorable drive.

One day my friend and myself were standing outside yeshiva when I spotted this car driving toward us:

Upon a sudden impulse I stuck out my thumb. The car whispered to the curb and the window rolled down. A friendly guy leaned over and asked where we were going. Mind racing I blurted out "7-11!".

And that is how I snagged a ride in the brand new $470,000 Rolls Royce Phantom to 7-11.

That is also how I learned my most momentous life lesson: Ask and thou shalt receive.

Did you have normal facilities in Ukraine, Slovakia and Czech?
What about normal showers?
You must have been so exhausted.
Airlines sending me "We're in this together" emails.

Bruh, where were you when my suitcase weighed 51.50 pounds?

Slovakia and Czech - Yes, Both are fairly modernized in certain areas. Had some great stories in Slovakia. Ukraine - stayed by someone that still used an outhouse

Can't believe I forgot to mention a bunch of erev shabbos driving in NYC stories. I think the most memorable was driving a packed 15 passenger van from 770 to the ohel in under 20 minutes door to door. With Friday traffic of course. I have 14 witnesses :)

I must mention that I had a lot of experience driving 15 P's before this, and would not suggest anyone to drive one in NY for their first time...

Was cheuffeurd around Los Angeles in a Phantom.

When I was 14, my father and I were driving down (12 hours or so) a rural highway in Russia. Every so often there would be this ghetto rest area - which basically consists of a hut selling water and nosh, an outhouse or hole in the ground, and a grill. Every rest area I would notice bunch of feral dogs hanging around the grill.

At one point near the end of the trip I noticed that one rest area wasn't grilling anything, I asked my dad why to which he answers; see any dogs around? There is nothing to grill anymore.

For several years after that I went around believing that Russian rednecks eat feral dogs.

Funny, I was just discussing doing this trip with my dad, lots of Jews were killed on the kolyma highway.

(My dads classmate is a bigwig in magadan, we were planning on starting from there)

Downtown Cle to Cle  Heights via Carnegie. Usually 30 minutes. Over 3 hrs in an insane snowstorm that just killed the drive home. bad plowing, gridlock, a bunch of cars stopped out of gas, horrible. Now at least i know some alternates.
