Not quite honorable, I guess that was the quotes. Regarding his statement about energy, as someone in the business, I can tell you that this was due to people selling products they did not understand. The entire qualification to sell ambit is to pay into the MLM. That leaves you with ignorant salespeople. Anyone who was competent did not have customers with major issues. Less than a hundredth of a percent of our serviced load had even minor issues over this winter and those were mostly due to the customer not following our advice.

Not entirely true. 

The gas rates last month sky rocketed.  They claimed this was due to the polar vortex.  Whatever their excuse was -  let's just say many people got messed over.

the excuse was just that, an excuse. Anyone who knew what they were doing had their customers protected against it.

I'm not sure why he is so burnt... Dansdeals isn't a multi-level scheme... and yes, off you redeem your credit card points for hotel gift cards, you can pay for part of the wedding on points... you can also use points of you need/want to fly someone in for the wedding, and you can sell your points to pay for the flowers too...

I know a number of guys that paid close to or above $200 last month through ambit, and my own bill from NJNG direct, did not change by much at about $60 (I stay far away from MLM's).

I recommend to all those who listen to me that NJ residential accounts should stay directly with the utility due to the credits they offer from time to time. You may save a little IF you get a decent product (big if-there are not many for residential gas) but you risk losing a lot of you lose the credit.
In general, like any industry, there are good and bad products. The trick is to know which is which. This needs an understanding of how the utilities operate in each state. Paying in to an MLM doesn't teach it to you. I don't expect anyone to trust me that I have this understanding, but I have demonstrated it to my customers many times.
