Recommendation for Citi Credit Card
« on: May 23, 2012, 04:37:31 PM »
Hello, I had applied for Citi AA Visa card for 75K bonus in July 2011. and then applied for Citi Thank You Master card for 50K bonus in Nov 2011. Closed Citi AA VISA in Jan 2012. I have CL of 20K from Citi open now from Citi Thank You Master card. I want recommendation for any other card I can apply with Citi with reasonable bonus offer and then I want to move CL and close Thank You card.

Any recommendation with other reasonable offer from Citi, where I dont get rejected for duplicate application in short time?

Citi doesn't have too many rewards cards. The Dividend cards are nothing special. You can go for an AA churn (YMMV), or get a Citi Forward which'll give you 10k TYP (worthless IMHO).

The other option is to convert your card to one that doesn't have an annual fee.

Site didn't show that one under "Rewards", , maybe it's travel or something. Citi Hilton is currently 40k.

ETA: The site shows it, but on a second page with obscure/hidden navigation buttons.

Maybe the TY Premier card. There are different 40, 50, 60k TYP offers floating around. Citi no longer relocates CL’s right away. You might have to wait 1-3 months unless you get extremely lucky. They also seem to be enforcing a max of 10k CL move.

Think I can sign up for AA Platinum CC while I still have a Gold card active and still get signup bonus?

It all depends what you are redeeming them for. For me I look at cash back redemptions so basically they are the same. If you plan on selling them it seems Chase is worth a lot more.

Citi points are currently the most valuable when you redeem them for flights. You can receive up to a 1.33 cpm value depending on the card you have
