Our beloved designer discounted fashion store Daffy's will be closing down all their 19 locations come this fall...

The only good news out of it: we can expect smashing sales on their current inventory in the next few weeks/months.

Right but after all they're sitting with some stock of real designer clothes and accessories which they'll have to get rid of in a very short period of time so might find some good specials.

My wife and kid's wardrobe contains of 90% daffy's, 5% TjMaxx and 5% Century 21..

That is incorrect. They sell the inventory to liquidation companies, who are experts at turning profits on these things.

As Dan said before, you very rarely get good deals at a "going out of business" sale.

Have you shopped at daffy's before? Everything is already very cheap add an extra 25% to everything that is already usually on sale and you have some really good deals.

This is so sad! Where will we get beautiful childrens italian designer clothes for so cheap now?!?! This is a huge loss for me, considering how much money I've saved there!

Here's my take on this:

As inventory depletes the discount offered goes up, so you gotta find that sweet-spot where there's still normal stuff left on the racks but the discounts are good. I've had better experiences, and not such good ones. Borders was lousy, and circuit city was even lousier.

I'll be happy to find another pair of Ferragamos for $50...
