Now let me give you the perspective from where I live. If a school board is taken over by members that don't have kids in public schools you are going to have a war on your hands. I don't care if the members that take it over are Catholics, Jews, black, green or blue. Hate would be the least of their worries.
Now let's say the vast majority of people where you live don't send their kids to public school. Yet, their taxes are going to pay for your schooling! So, you come to an understanding that you offer them funding for different programs, like special needs children and the like. This is all above board and legal, no cash under the table or anything untoward, and you get to keep running the school board even though you are the minority. When it comes time for elections, we just don't even run for any spots.
Then, one day, the school board decides, "Hey, we're giving money for all these programs. Let's not and only pump money into the public school system." The people providing most of that money say, "Hey, please don't do that. We are paying our taxes, we're getting along great, and we're getting a minimal amount of funding for our needs."
The school board says nah.
Then the community says, "Do you realize there are far more of us living here? We can vote you out in a second and you'll ruin the good thing we have going, a system based on mutual respect."
The school board says "We don't care." Plus, at each of these meetings, residents come and go on anti-Semitic tirades. social media pages are set up and there are hundreds upon hundreds of anti-Semitic comments with elected officials joining in.
The community votes and the majority of the residents are now represented on the school board.
Now the public school parents are pissed. They come back and scream and shout and offer more anti-Semitism. Never once do they say, "Hey, remember when things were great and we got along and you didn't run for school board positions? Let's go back to that and we'll provide *a tiny fraction* of our budget which mostly is funded by you to help special needs kids."
What say you? How should this be resolved?
