This is actually a good point. Often in these communities the parents know every detail of the other families life being that they grew up together and do an honest assessment if they are a good family or not. In many frum dating scenes you get a suggestion from someone who lies about certain aspects to cover it up. You date for 2 weeks she seems nice get engaged and then find out "secrets" you didn't know before. So there are some advantages I suppose.

I don't really want to get into it, but no matter how much prior investigating  you do will not reveal, among others things, (i) a closet homosexual or (ii) simply the fact that they do not "get along."

You could have either, but with respect to the second, no matter how "temimusdik" or "chashuve" or upstanding, genuine, honest (and append any other positive attribute here) the two are, their personalities may simply not "jive."

I agree 100% I also didn't think they had the healthiest marriage now from my point of view. Obviously I can't judge because I live a different lifestyle from him. although point (i) I don't think anyone has a solution to PCMIIW.

If by "anyone" you mean frum yidden, then, no, I think that's true.

But, if anyone includes really "anyone" then I'd imagine it'd be very, very difficult, if not impossible, for a homosexual to remain in the closet during a serious heterosexual relationship which involves sex.

I suppose this isn't the place to discus homosexuality, but I think it is possible for a frum or not frum person to stay in the closet. (I was talking about frum people)
