Big risk of using GC's. If they see a pattern of GC's you will get a warning and/or your account closed. Not sure about a 1099. I have been banned for some time now.

If you are not in a rush to get the money, take it slow. (Several months)

Yeah, with a bit of gently applied heat, all the cards should melt together.
Won't work with Chase Sapphire though, unless you've got a blowtorch.

It may work if you melt the other cards around it like a sandwich almost.

I am looking to buy about $100K in $100 Amex gift cards (total 1,000 cards). I want to get rid of it the best way possible (meaning I need the cash out of it). I don't mind paying the 3% transaction fee. I was thinking about swiping it in my business, but I'm afraid Amex will shut me down. The max. we swipe is about 12K/month in Amex transactions.

Any ideas appreciated.

I will share the idea with people who helped me out later in the month, if I get helpful answers. I don't want to abuse the system, and I will make sure it's not published in public.
