Hey Marco Polo, did you get the answers you need yet? Don't want to hijack your thread but I have questions on the same topic.

I got plenty of ideas, just need to figure out what the best option is for us.
You can take the thread away.

Ok, here's my story, any help would be greatly appreciated!

My wife is ble"h already in her 4th month, and we live in Israel, and her brother just got engaged and want to make wedding lag baomer- which would fall out in middle of 36 month...

So basically, the way I see it, if she wants to be by the wedding would need to give birth in ny- but we don't have any insurance...

Any ideas or ways to get covered??

Thanks in advance!!

If she's pregnant she can get Madicare regardless. The problem is, if she isn't a US citizen I think they can deny you entry if they think you are coming to have a baby...

did you mean Medicaid?
IIRC if you get a letter from the Dr, you should be able to get ny Medicaid.
Why don't you call NY Medicaid to see if you are eligible?

Do I have to say I've been living in ny all this time uninsured? Or that I've been overseas?

Pretty sure it doesn't matter.

Depends for what. there is a Medicaid helpline which is not actual Medicaid that can help a little.

So the Medicaid rep I spoke to said that when pregnant there is a period after applying when you are 'presumed eligible" - and will be covered then even if afterwards they decide you are not eligible for Medicaid - but he wasn't sure if it is 60 or 90 days...

Anyone have any more details on this period?
And is there any co-pay with Medicaid?
Do they cover all c-sections etc (chas vesholom) ?

Don't know about your first question but there is no copay with Medicaid and they cover everything. You just have to make sure your doctor takes the Medicaid you are on

Anyone have/know of a good dr (and hospital) that accepts Medicaid??

I must also give Thanks to all of you that are responding! It's been really helpful!
