HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Are there any benefits of the executive card that makes it worth the $450?

correct.

Getting into airport without a ticket only works with United club card...
Always use an Amex, you'll thank me one day.

How many EQMs will you have without the 40K spend? If the 10K will push you over the threshold for status that you want, and that you will otherwise not be able to attain, then it probably is worth it.
I'll have no EQMs w/o the 40k spend and I have no clue how many I need to get into each tier nor do I know how to otherwise get it any other way. Haha So is elite status even worth the effort especially if I don't have it to begin with? I'm just trying to figure out which cards are worth it to work on for their annual thresh bonuses.

IME, no. It technically is $250 as you get credited $200 just for using it. I tried the Admirals Club at LAX and HNL and I wasn't impressed. I got more bang for my buck with an Amex Plat for Centurion Lounges and the lounges of Priority Pass. They're really good about disputing charges and crediting w/o question, and the 100k was the only reason I went for it.

AA I believe. I got priority stamped too in HNL, and saved more than 30 minutes in line for sure although the priority line was a bit slow that day.
