Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

This was on my account. Still hasn't showed up for wife's account but Citi claims that it'll show up after next statement closes. Seems like AA isn't backed up anymore though.

Has anyone been able to lower the CL for an AADvantage Plat Select World (or World Elite) to under $5k?

I had initially been told my card had been upgraded to WE (haven't received the new card they mailed out yet). Then I called to lower the CL in preparation for a new app. They were able to lower it to $2.5k. However, then the possibly unreliable CSR told me that they were sending out a new card, but it wasn't WE.

I'll have to sit and wait to see if it's WE, but in the meantime, I'm afraid lowering my CL may potentially prevent me from being upgraded to WE - if it hasn't already happened.

I lowered my card to $2k and it's still a WE.
You can see on your online account page if your card is a W or WE.

Thanks. I believe I read upthread of a way to check if your card was a W or WE, but I wasn't sure how reliable it was - if I recall correctly it didn't explicitly say W or WE.

Platinum
- If the card is listed as "Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World MasterCard®" it is W.
- If the card is listed as "Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select®" it is WE.

Gold
- If the card is listed as "Citi® / AAdvantage® Gold World MasterCard®" it is W.
- If the card is listed as "Citi® / AAdvantage® Gold" it is WE.

Got the AA Plat personal with a 60k offer last month.  Just got the same offer in the mail again.  I can't re-sign up for it until my current one is converted to a WE, correct?
Also got a 60k offer for Biz Plat Select.  It's a different product, right?  How to Citi biz products fall on the application timeline?  Like any other Citi card?

Any language on the offer?
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.
