HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

If you met the spend (assuming all else is fine >> 18m clock etc) you will get them sooner or later.

My second statement just closed since completing the spending.  It says I have earned it, but the miles still haven't been added to my account.
How long does it take them?

You sure Citi didn't create you a new AA FFN?

1. 65 days from the first meaning no more then 2 apps per 60 days
2. supposedly citi doesn't approve if you have more then 6 hard pulls in the last 6 months but as me and countless other ddf'rs can attest it is a bunch of hogwash I've been approved for citi cards with 12 hp in 6 months
A bunch of hogwash, or they've loosened up recently?
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

My second statement closed on Monday and points just showed up overnight. Don't bother calling Citi, it'll be a total waste of your time. They'll tell you it's AA's issue, and AA will tell you it's Citi's issue. As long as you got the 50k offer confirmation with your card, they'll show up. I know how aggravating it is though.

For those of you that were able to get AA to book you a flight when you didn't have enough points in your account and you were in the negative for a bit, when your points finally did post, did AA make the mistake of restarting the calculation from 0 instead of the negative number? I was at ~-20k and 60k just posted to my account but instead of having 40k, I have 60k in my balance.
Balance was corrected. Guess it was a temporary error.  :(

That's in general. This was discussing citi specifically. I've heard that citi has loosened up their approval standards recently.
