I wouldn't be so certain of that. They were supposed to cruise into WC spot, but they seem to be fighting for it.
Those statistics are meaningless. Take this year for example. If the Cubs make it to the WS they will be favorites but not have home field. If they win 4-2 what does that tell you about home field advantage?
I don't disagree with any of that. Just sayin.
Exactly. In the past 13 years there's been a 7 game WS just twice, and the home team won just once. Hilariously overrated.
so if this year the cubs face the mets and manage to touch their pitching (yes im looking at you kris bryant-that home run late in game 4 meant nothing), it wouldnt mean anything to you to see them go on and maybe win a WS bc last year, when the mets were at full strength, they made a mockery of the cubs bats?
JTZ already said that last year has nothing to do with this year. Here are a few reasons... Improved Russel, Baez, and Bryant. Zobrist. Heyward.

They need some pure hitters. HR hitters just don't cut it when playoffs come around.
which is why if the mets have the WC spot locked up going into sunday, and are only playing for homefield in the WC game, noah should be pushed back to the WC game
True Cub fans don't care. You want to be the best then you have to beat the best. If you are afraid to face their best then you don't deserve to win.
Speaking of the best, the Giants are prob. the hardest team to face in the playoffs as they haven't lost a playoff series in just about forever. You asked for it and...
Cubs really gotta start hitting if they wanna see the WS. Or they can just blame a goat....or Bartman.
No doubt the cubs would be a very scary team to face in the WS.
It is kind of sad how little respect CLE gets. LA or the Cubs would most likely be the favorite over them. All they did was win 7 out of 8, go figure.
