How much do you pay if it's your brother?
do you get a MT?
Don't you get a belated one??
is he your mohel of choice or do you feel obligated to allow him to gain experience with your baby?
Let's say both.
ummm....let him gain experience elsewhere. Unless hes an expert I wouldnt let him touch my child. Same goes for residents vs doctors at the hospital. That said, a nice gift would be nicer than a cash to a relative
You can avoid having students or residents work on you at hospitals by avoiding the teaching hospitals and just going to some no-name hospital--especially in a rural area. I don't recommend it. Also, he IS an expert, and IS my mohel of choice. And I also feel obligated to use him because he is my brother--not because of he needs the experience. He is fully experienced.
Or you can just refuse the interns and residents and wait either for your doctor or an attending.
This question really all depends on how much of a cut the mohel is taking...
I paid 600,two years ago
600? Anyone asks me for that much, and I'm crying "uncle."
I assume that was pun intended.
No, I do not get a MT, beyond for getting married last October. Sorry for any confusion folks. But my brother IS an expert mohel, and I WOULD cry uncle if someone charged me 600 for something my wife could do with a rock.
