1.the question doesnt begin until you know the exact route that it takes
2.assuming you fly over hawaii area, then its still very easy to avoid issurei deoraysa for a short period of time while on a plane (but thats if a person would want to put themselves in that situation)

for the first map,
and theres your answer
so it depends on if someone wants to deal with the safek
if the answer is yes, its very easy to deal with on a plane
the second map presents no problem

I don't see how Dan's maps prove one way or the other. (I'm not a Baki in this Shailah.)

japan is an issue for sunday
hawaii area is the friday issue
so if you fly west from japan on thursday, you dont enter the danger zone

Yes, but after Shkia on Thursday, Hawaii is an issue. If you're flying from Japan at 5PM, what time will it be as you fly over Hawaii? Oh, it will be earlier than 5PM since you land in ORD at 2, which means that when you're over Hawaii, it's definitely not yet Shkia... I see! Now, the job and wife part...
