I personally think that nothing can mask the disgusting taste of gefilte fish but I've seen people put honey on it

Honey - of course - from Rosh Hashanna until Shemini Atzeres, if you cant have chrain, you need to put something on it.  Eat Gefilte Fish plain?

In Yeshiva I put ketchup into the farfel and mixed it, so it should have some taste.

First off many people make a Gefilte fish with a tomato based sauce so ketchup is not so weird. If you want a great Gefilte fish, pour some soup "Mandelach" over the fish. Delicious

There are so many ways of making gefilte idk how so many people say they won't touch the stuff.

If it is made into a patty and fried I can see dipping it in ketchup.

Herring without the fish, isn't that red herring?
