I think you shouldn't be able to back out unless you have someone to cover you. Whoever is bidding was counting on everyone who committed on chipping in. My understanding is that we're bidding till we win.

-1 If bidding goes over $1000 per person I think a lot of people are going to drop out. Probably myself included.

The 4 people on the waitlist are from the same group. We were going to arrange a 12 person team but since people will probably back out its better for all of us that we just join in than bid you guys up.

The other package sold went for pretty cheap, I doubt it's going to get close to that per person.

It says the winning team gets a grand prize of SPG points, does that mean whoever bids gets those points? If so does the winning team get a discount based on the points that the bidder gets?

If you signed up and have a max you are willing to spend then you should make that number known so the person bidding knows what the max bid should be.
