BEWARE BB update

Help I just updated bb from verizon while they told me step by step how to do it and all my info got erased!!! They said it's lost and nothing to do! It was backed up on an old computer that I just realized had crashed a couple months ago!!

 Anyone here know if it's possible to retrieve anything??

Your old computer might be your best bet. You need a wire which was described elsewhere on the forums.

When you say "crashed" what do you mean exactly. Was it reformatted, or is it lying in your basement collecting dust?

even when formatting (not quick) you might be able to retrieve stuff.

the smaller the backup file size, the better.

You will need to check the RAW data, but a lot of nissim are needed there.
lets hope some other part of your old pc ded and that the harddisk is still ok.

from what i understand the backup will not be very up to date...

Thanx everyone for your help it was my wife phone and thank gd even after I brought it to verizon store with my computer and they said it's lost I was looking through all bb labelled stuff and came across a File with option to restore all old settings and I plugged in the phone and everything came back!! It must have backed it up to a dif file when I updated it!! Thanx again and I think I'll ask my rav if we should bentch gomel she had about 650 contacts and many other things
   As far as the old computer they told me the motherboard is fried and not much to do about it although I know verylittle about computers I gave it to my friend to play around with

If its just the motherboard, the data can be recovered off the Hard drive pretty easily. BH, doesn't sound like you need it
