Author Topic: Using an EIN to get multiple biz CC sign up bonuses (Read 10644 times)

So lets say i already got the SPG biz card using my social as a sole prop, can i apply again using an EIN number for a business and definitely get the bonus again?
I know there are ways to get the bonus again using your social but that is generally YMMV.

If this does indeed work, and not that i intend to really do such a thing (i have a legit EIN already) , but whats stopping someone from just getting a new EIN on irs.gov and applying again?

(If this has been discussed already, please show me where...)

First of all, you can't get more than one EIN per SSN...
Either way, I can't promise about the SPG, but I have done business bank promos with both my SSN and then EIN- same promotion.

Also, I think they have a person actually manually overseeing all the apps, because you can only submit one online during certain business hours.

Oh and btw, getting an EIN is free and takes about 5 minutes, and there's even an option to click in when you are making one that says something along the lines of "Making one for banking purposes" (thought I doubt they mean what we mean)!

I would love to do this so that i can apply for business cards without getting a hard pull on my CR but i'm scared 1)that i will get in trouble for not having a real business 2) that it will screw up my taxes?

There is noting to be scared about, a EIN is a simple # that the IRS is providing you so you shouldn't have to give everyone your SS, "its not like opening a Corporation" when you open a Corp you are making a Yesh Mien (creating a new Corp & SS) verses this EIN is just getting a new name but still staying the same person!

I dont have an SSN, but I do have an EIN.

Someone told me that I could apply for a card using this EIN INSTEAD of a SSN.

Is this true, and if yes, how does that work (application form wise)

I don't know if this will help you but from my experience, I applied in the past for Biz Cards (I have a real Business) and every time they asked me for my SS and I saw they pulled my personal Credit Report

Really? I always thought that for biz they dont pull on personal CR as long as you give an EIN...

I checked my report every time and I'm positive that they pulled it,

I'm now going to try to dispute those inquiries, (at least the once that I wasn't approved) will let you know how it worked,

They do. They just don't report to the personal credit agencies.
