I know a bunch of people who signed up with link for 50k, got 25k, asked them for the other 25k, got the 2nd 25k, called and asked for a 2nd 50k and got it

No I think what he is saying that they only got 25k at first- emailed got the 2nd 25k = 50k
And then getting the 2nd 50k for a total of 100k, also a lot of pts

a HUGE thank you to everyone on here who said to be persistent, and offered up new codes to use when calling Amex.  On my 6th call, I finally got a MR rep who cared, and she told me that they needed to hear a certain word or phrase in order to credit me the points.  It was a hilarious guessing game for a few minutes, but then I mentioned 'better offer', and she said that was it!  One minute on hold, and she came through with the extra 50K points.  Now, THAT is why I love Amex!  In the end, they take care of the customer.

so.... I got the gold card from 25k to 75k on first sm. Then on the plat no luck with first sm with id 3882 and no luck again with 2nd sm this time with id 5748. Then tonight i called mr and used 5748 and hit the jackpot! Except when the rep looked at my account he saw $750 of the $1000 was a pass reload and he said that doesn't count and i have to spend another $750 to get the bonus!

On a side note he told me that there is 135k points pending:
50k for plat
50k for gold
25k for gold
!!10k for gold!! 

No complaints from me for 2 cards and 1 credit pull!!

A few people have mentioned that extra 10k for gold.
Did you by any chance sign up for extended pay on the gold because I think there is a 10k bonus for that

I would apply for another card if you don't have any recent approvals with Amex and the Platinum was opened for sometime.

you mention that the first platinum should have been open for sometime. how long? didnt most of us close it within 2 months?

If you don't see your first Platinum app here, then neither will Amex's new accounts department. That's my understanding.
