I want to say budget for 2 hours.  Also, I didn't find the fort to be that amazing.  I would skip it.

why did you decide on that area?

Very nice looking and reasonable vacation rentals.  Right next to Waldorf Astoria El Conquistodor resort, which has an amazing waterpark.  Not far from San Juan.  Not planning on relying on Chabad for food as options are limited and prices are high.  Just going to bring alot of meat and cheese and buy everything else there at Walmart.

I'm travelling to PR in January with 3 kids (btwn 1-9yrs old). Will probably stay in Isla Verde for a few nights over shabbos, but am considering staying somewhere else for remaining 2 days.

1. Can anyone suggest some hotels/areas that would have great facilities for kids? (Does it make sense to book a couple of days at the Waldorf El Conquiscador just for their water park? Are the Rio Grande hotels worthwhile for their facilities?)

2. Can anyone recommend activities and attractions that would be good and feasible for young kids (around San Juan and elsewhere)?

thank you

I'm going Presidents week in February with my wife and 2 kids( 2.5 yr and 5 month old) We're staying at the Sheraton in San Juan and Embassy Suites in Dorado.  We plan to do the beach and pool the whole time, but are there any activities in the evening for kids?

I was wondering the same thing (though we'll be there one month earlier).  We're also doing a few days in San Juan, and I'm trying to decide where to go for the remaining two days. How did you decide on the Embassy Suites/Dorado. Did you consider the Grand Melia or Wyndham in Rio Grande?

will be in PR from 1/15 - 1/18 and was thinking about renting an Apt in the Isla Verde area (near Chabad).

can ppl share with me what are some reasons why i wouldn't want to be in that area and/or where else should i be staying for those days?

what did you think of it?
Was a little dated, but decent and clean. Was extremely good for Shabbos (kitchen in the room), and excellent location regarding both Chabad and the beach.
